Feeling Pretty Grateful

Everywhere you look today people are remembering September 11, 2001 and the great ways in which it affected our country and so many individuals' lives. I was only eight years old when the terrorist attacks happened, so I really didn't understand how devastating it was and how big of a threat a group of individuals had posed for our country.

Now, however, the tragedy of the attacks is so clear. It is terrible for the families who have lost their loved ones, and for those individuals who died as heroes fighting for their country in its time of need. I read this article written by Gordon B. Hinckley during the October 2001 General Conference right after the attacks of September 11. Thinking about it today, I am grateful for the knowledge I have as a member of the church. For the importance of repentance and the atonement of Jesus Christ and the blessing each one is. I am thankful for the revelation provided in the scriptures about the second coming, and all of the peril and devastation that must occur first. I am extremely grateful for latter day prophets and the revelation they provide for the well being of church members.

It's a pretty good Sunday.
