Bla, Bla, Bla

The baby turned one today. He is so cute! Mom had to work, so we are going to do his little cake tomorrow. He is so cute. However, he still doesn't sleep very well , which is annoying sometimes.
All the little kids that I babysit are so easy to put to bed. All I have to do is make them a bottle, hold them for 5-10 minutes, lay them in their bed around 8, and walk out. My baby brother doesn't fall asleep until 10 or 11.

Last week, my mom's friend came over and helped us do our flower beds since we have no clue what to do. However, for some reason, everything we touch dies. I'm trying to keep everything alive, but it never works for me except it did one time when I was in fifth or sixth grade, I don't remember. We ate this watermelon one summer day, and I had all the black seeds on my plate. At the time there was nothing in the flower beds, so I decided to try and plant them. I planted three just to experiment, but I completely forgot about them. So a couple weeks later my brother was mowing and weed-whacking when he saw this huge vine and little green circular shapes. He called Dad and he informed us that it was a watermelon plant. Anyway, no one knew where it came from and I piped up and said I had planted a few a couple weeks ago. Amazingly, they actually grew and I never really even watered them! There was another time when I was growing pumpkins, but that is a different story, and the story didn't end so well.

This past week I have been trying to get my hair cut. On Monday when Mom picked me up, we went, but the lady that cuts Mom's hair was busy for the rest of the day, so we didn't get it cut. The next day Mom called and got an appointment for Thursday at 5. I was really excited because I haven't really gotten my hair cut since the summer of 2005. So I came home from school and asked Mom when we were going to leave and she told me that the lady quit! She went to work at a different salon, and so I have to wait until either Tuesday, Wednesday, or maybe even Thursday.

My fifteen year old brother, Mom, and I went to Old Navy today. Mom was looking for these shirts that you wear in the pool to block the UV rays or something to help prevent skin cancer. Dad asked her to look for them because us kids spend the majority of the summer at the pool, and it is completely in the sun. Back to what I was saying. She took my brother and I with her to look for some summer clothes. A lot of the shirts were on clearance, so I got two, and some flip-flops. My brother thinks I have to many flip-flops, but you can never have enough! Shorts and capris are too expensive so I didn't get any yet. They are like 30 bucks, and that is too much money for me to spend!

I only have one more SOL and I am so happy! They are such a pain in the butt. Anyway, we have a three day weekend which means more sleep for me!!! Only 8 more days of school left. Summer can't come soon enough.

SOL Month

I absolutely hate SOL month. Today everyone took the math 8 SOL, and so everyone that had already taken the geometry or algebra 1 SOL didn't have to take it. Instead, we had to go into the gym until testing was done so that we didn't "disturb the testing environment". At about 9:30, after the little kids had gone to school, I called mom using a cell phone in the gym. Our school has crappy service except for in the band room and in the bathrooms, so the first time I called, it didn't work, but the second time it did. I called and asked if she would pick me up since we were just staring at each other for three hours. Mom did and we went out to lunch together. It was fun.

My sisters took an SOL today. I have one on Wednesday, fun fun fun...

Mother's Day

For some reason, my mom despises Mother's Day. She thinks it is stupid that you would celebrate. Part of the reason is because in our church, they assign two people to speak on the topic of motherhood, and Mom would rather not hear about someone's mother and their "great deeds". Then, the men always give the moms a rose and some kind of cake or dessert. Mom is never in a good mood on the weekend of Mother's Day.

So my brother, dad, and I went out to get something for mom, and of course the fifteen year old brother had no clue what mom would want. We were in Target looking for the right thing, and so we went down the scrapbooking isle. Mom uses these little flowers in her pages, and she told me that eventually she wants every color. So I told my brother and he said: "Are you freakin' kidding me! These cost seven bucks for little decorative flowers? Obviously I'm going to be paying for the glass jar. I wanna see her using these!" Anyway, he bought two different colors for her.

Dad bought Mom an iHome for her ipod. I suppose she likes it and she said thanks and all, but that's it. We went to Best Buy to find it and shopping with dad is a nightmare! For Father's Day, I might just get him those things that jockeys put on the horses' eyes so that they can't see the other horses, that way Dad won't be able to see whats on the other isles.

I just got Mom shampoo, pens, peanut m&m's, and a frame. Next year, however, I might not even get anything because she hates the holiday, so why bother.

I am a little mad right now, so I'm leaving.

Bored

I seem to be bored a lot lately. In between school and home, there really isn't much to do. All the teachers are freaking out because of the SOL's coming up. I know I'm going to pass all of mine. Also, the are making us watch these gay videos on high school transitions. They're acting like high school is going to be so "scary" and that "we need to be prepared".

I can't wait till high school. Since I made it into Governor's School, it makes me one hundred times more excited. My best friend made it also, so that will be fun. My brother had to take an AP test today...hope he did well. He's stayed after school a bunch of times to study for it so he probably did well. I have a geometry SOL on Tuesday and my brother got a perfect 600 hundred on it last year, so I want to do the same. However, no matter how hard I try, I always miss one or two questions at the max.

My mom and I made these really cute clipboards this week for the elementary school teachers. You can see how to make them by going to Google.com and searching for "altered clipboards". They turned out really cute. I painted them, and Mom stayed up until one o' clock putting teacher quotes on the boards.

I didn't go to school today because my mom took my sister and I to some country store. It was pretty cool, I guess. At least it was better than sitting through boring class after boring class. School is just so boring, and my worst grade is a 97%, and that's geometry! All my other classes I have a minimum of a 99%. Anyway, my eight year old sister, three year old brother, and I all went with mom. The three year old saw a bunch of candy and junk and he was like, "Mom, look! We're going to need that!" It was pretty cute. The baby, however, screamed the whole way there and part of the way back.

Old Info:

My fifteen year old brother, Dad, and I were asked to thoroughly clean this one house so that it might sell easier, so we said we would. However, this wasn't the ordinary little dirt here, little dirt there house. This house was previously occupied by mice AND someone living in it. It was very gross! Anyway, there was mouse poop everywhere and so we were going to clean it. My dad estimated the job to take maybe ten hours at the most, so we went over there on Saturday and got started. We didn't make that much progress, so we hired my sisters as really cheap labor. We also went over Sunday afternoon, and after working for eight hours, we had only cleaned one and a half rooms. We were paying my eleven year old sister 4$ an hour and my eight year old sister 3$ and hour. We were only getting paid 400$, so after eight hours, we decided to fire my sisters. Anyway, the job is still not done, so guess what I'm doing this weekend.

Mom is now sleeping form her major lack of sleep. I'm starting to feel really tired myself, so I might just go take a nap or watch t.v. with my sister.

Just Some Info

First off, I made it into that Governor's School program!!! I am really excited to start ninth grade now! This week has been crazy. I have to so this science fair experiment and then I have a geometry test tomorrow-fun. I'm so excited...

On Tuesday, the three year old and I were playing outside. He is extremely terrified of bugs, and he screams every time he sees one. Since it's spring, there are caterpillars everywhere. We were swinging on the swings and there was one on the floor. He started freaking out screaming, "Megan, Megan! The bugs are going to eat me. They will crawl in my shoes! Pick me up! Pick me up!" Boys are supposed to like bugs!

Got to go eat dinner. I can't wait until school gets out so I don't have to get up in the morning!
